FARAIEN BAHRI Faraien Bahri is the founder of Doctors At Reach. He formed Doctors At Reach because of his passion for promoting a healthy lifestyle. His goal is to raise awareness and consciousness of the necessity of positive health habits. He wants to show others how a lifestyle of poor diet, infrequent exercise, and other detrimental health choices can damage ones life, and how they can help prevent it from happening. Professionally, Faraien worked for several years in the hospitality industry. His career began as a restaurant manager while simultaneously paying for university. After several years in the industry, he took on the role of Project Manager of Corporate Operations and Logistics at SBE Entertainment Group, one of the fastest growing hospitality companies in the US. His role involved corporate operations, company wide purchasing, and special project initiatives. Soon after, Faraien joined Move Inc. (a Newscorp subsidiary) as a Senior Financial Analyst, primarily focused on corporate finance. In addition, Faraien also has experience working at Kaiser Permanente and also holds two cancer research publications in the FASEB journal. With a diverse background, his goal is to make a positive impact on his community at large, in any way feasible. Faraien obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a joint concentration in Real Estate Finance/Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. He also has a Biological Sciences Post Baccalaureate degree level education with above a 3.95 science and math gpa. Currently he is a medical student at the George Washington University School of Medicine obtaining his M.D. degree. He believes anyone can reach success with the right approach and he intends on spreading that mindset to every student he interacts with. |
Arash Babadjouni Arash Babadjouni is the President of Doctors at Reach as well as President of the nonprofits USC chapter. He has played a pivotal role in the development and launch of Doctors At Reach. His dedication to the cause has helped shape the direction of Doctors At Reach with a goal of influencing young adults about the prominence of a wholesome lifestyle. Currently, Arash has successfully completed a yearlong internship at UCLA Hospital allowing him to gain strong skills in patient care interactions. He continues to remain active in the hospital setting by attending neurosurgery at USC Hospital and orthopedic surgery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Professionally, Arash worked for Growing Minds Academic Achievement Center as a specialized tutor for students with learning disabilities. Additionally, he is an active research assistant at the Zilka Neurological Institute. His work focuses on cancer drug development and cancer epigenomics studies. Also, Arash has co-authored one case report that is published in the Journal of Neurological Surgery. Arash obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California. Currently, he is a graduate student at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science obtaining his Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences. |
Andre Ariel Kohanoff André Ariel Kohanoff is the President of UCLA's Doctors At Reach student chapter. He oversees and manages the UCLA chapter and organizes outreach events catering to children from underserved communities and schools. André strives to provide maximum outreach by bridging events where both UCLA and USC members are present and actively contribute to the spread of our mission: to promote and properly sustain positive health care. André graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in Spring 2017, where he obtained a B.A. in Sociology. During his time at UCLA, he earned a spot as Webmaster and subsequently as Vice-President for the Pre-Dental Student Outreach Program on campus. Additionally, he volunteered at the UCLA School of Dentistry and joined the UCLA Basic Dental Principles program to further expose himself to the field of dentistry. Since February 2014, André has passionately devoted countless hours shadowing various procedures at Dr. Isaac Kahen Kashani's dental practice, Lasting Impressions Dental Spa. In Summer 2018, André will further feed his appetite for dentistry and community outreach by joining Global Dental Brigades at USC on an organized service-working trip to Honduras, where volunteers will provide emergency dental care to individuals there. During this time, he will also volunteer for the Dental Explorers Program at Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC— a course which he previously took himself. André has fulfilled all pre-dental coursework and is applying to dental school for admission in Fall 2019. |

Nima Bahri Nima Bahri is the co-founder and treasurer of Doctors at Reach. He has operated and maintained the management and reporting of the organizations finances since its inception. As an aspiring Certified Public Accountant in California, he has managed to utilize his accountancy knowledge to supervise the accounts, manage the necessary filings and permits, maintain the budgets, and allocate any contributions for the organizations resources. Currently, Nima is working full time as a Property Manager for Transwestern; a commercial real estate brokerage firm. He works directly under a real estate licensed professional with a team of associates. His previous employer, SBE Entertainment Group is a rapidly growing hospitality company focused on restaurants, hotels and nightlife. At SBE Entertainment Group he worked directly under the Assistant Controller and Vice President of Finance as a Project Accounting Intern and Finance Assistant to gain the knowledge needed to advance in his accounting and finance career. Recently Nima obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from California State University, Northridge. He is also currently enrolled in UCLA extension courses working to earn his Accounting Certificate required for the CPA examination. On the side, Nima is also a certified rock climbing instructor. With his free time, he teaches students in after school programs and special needs children how to indoor rock climb at the local Recreational Center in Calabasas. Robin Babadjouni Robins Babadjouni is an advisor and board member of Doctors At Reach. He is currently a medical student at the USC Keck School of Medicine. He is an active member of a research team at the Zilka Neurogenetic institute working on cerebrovascular disorders. He attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science obtaining his Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. In addition, Robin obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in biological sciences and business administration. Robin has played a pivotal role in the development of our curriculum. His extensive knowledge of the medical field as well as his clinical experience has allowed us a unique opportunity to deliver preventive medicine to the populations we are helping. Siamak Khakshoor-Kohan Siamak Khakshoor-Kohan is the president of the nonprofit UCLA chapter. He oversees and manages the UCLA chapter as well as finds schools for the organization to maximize their reach. Siamak makes sure that the UCLA chapter works closely in conjunction with the USC chapter and ensures that his members are active throughout the year. In the past, Siamak has submerged himself in the healthcare setting with his research involvement in the UCLA Aftercare Research Program as well as clinical experience in the UCLA Care Extenders Program. Siamak graduated from UCLA with a Bachelors in Science in Psychobiology in Spring of 2016. In addition to his position at Doctors at Reach, he is an intern for Dr. Hamid at The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute and Dr. Eshaghian at Beverly Hills Cardiology. Aaron Masjedi
Aaron Masjedi is the Co-Founder and Co-President of UCLA's Doctors at Reach student chapter. He has played a pivotal role in the branching of Doctor's at Reach to UCLA's campus. He works alongside Siamak Khakshoor-Kohan to manage and oversee the UCLA chapter and hosts a variety of events with both the USC and UCLA branches. Currently, Aaron is a full-time employee at Destinations, working with both the clinical and academic teams to ensure the health goals for their adolescent patients are met. He continues to shadow numerous physicians, volunteer in a variety of organizations such as Swipe Out Hunger and Venice Family Clinic, and has begun leading educational trips across the country. Aaron has a passion for working with children and it can be seen through our events at Doctors at Reach. As someone who once recently struggled with weight issues, he has a passion for helping our youth understand the necessity for proper health maintenance, and his work in our organization shines brightly. Aaron obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently employed full-time, continues volunteering, and is applying to medical school. Venus Vahdati
Venus Vahdati is an advisor of Doctors at Reach. Prior to attending pharmacy school, she worked at an independent pharmacy for several years. Being able to perform her job successfully and putting a smile on people's faces has always been her leading motto. Her past experience helped convince her that she really has passion for this profession. During undergrad, she was part of a directed research team at the Center for Cancer and Developmental Biology at CSUN to identify reagents that un-clump cells in a model yeast system for use in clinical applications. Her research was ultimately published in the FASEB journal. After attending pharmacy school Venus began using her pharmacy knowledge to advise young children on the importance of a healthy diet to help reduce their chances of getting a long-term disease. She uses simple words to explain what negative effects different disease states have on the body and how medications can help with those problems. Venus earned her bachelors degree at the California State University, Northridge. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. Currently she is a Pharmacy student at Western University of Health Sciences. |
Assal Babadjouni Assal graduated from the University of Southern California with her Bachelors of Science degree in Public Policy and Real Estate Development in 2015. Further, she is currently completing a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Chapman University in Orange, California. Assal hopes to attend Graduate school to obtain her Master of Science Degree (MS, CCC-SLP) the following year. While at USC, Assal spent time volunteering at Peace Over Violence and interning at Private Real Estate Investment Firms, as well as Law Firms. Assal has played a pivotal role in the development and launch of Doctors At Reach and Tutors at Reach. Her dedication to the cause has helped shape the direction of Doctors At Reach with a goal of community outreach in order to positively influence young adults about the prominence of a wholesome lifestyle. |
Ashley Kohanoff Ashley Kohanoff is a participant of Doctors At Reach. As a member of this nonprofit, she educates younger members of the community about living a healthy and fit lifestyle. Ashley is currently gaining extensive experience interfacing with patients while working at both dental and chiropractic offices. She also volunteers at Brookdale Senior Living where she is inspired to help people who face physical and mental impairments. Volunteering has given her an incredible opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many people and helped to solidify her commitment to serving those in need. |
Benjamin Partiali Benjamin Partiali is a member of Doctors at Reach. He is an advocate of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He is passionate about helping educate young members of the community about the importance of diet and exercise. Benjamin has over 4 years of experience in the health care setting. He volunteered at Saint John's Health Center for two years on the Post Critical Care Unit. Additionally, he volunteered at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in the patient escort department for one year. Benjamin has been working as an Emergency Medical Technician for over a year; during which he has seen the tragic effects of neglecting a healthy lifestyle. He is also involved in cancer research under Dr. Andrew Hendifar at Cedars Sinai. Benjamin is an undergraduate student at the University of Southern California where he is majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Spanish. |
Leora Matian Leora Matian is a UCLA alumni, who began her interest in health and lifestyle as a sociology major. She is on her path to obtaining her Master’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant and participated in UCLA archive research under the direction of UCLA professor Saba Soomekh's project Mapping Jewish Los Angeles. She pursued her passion for helping others as an active member of UCLA hospital's Care Extenders program, a volunteer organization that brings a personal healthcare experience to hospital patients. She has also worked in the betterment of our community through her volunteer work for Kol Ahava, a non-profit organization aimed at raising money for various third party nonprofits organizations around the world. Her passion and interest in health and happy living are palpable in all domains of her study and work experiences. |
Nazanin Sheikhan Nazanin Sheikhan is an active member of Doctors At Reach. As a contributing member of this non-profit, she strives to educate members of the community on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle which entails proper nutrition, regular exercise, proper sleep, good hygiene, and avoiding unhealthy habits. Professionally, Nazanin is a certified Behavior Analyst and has previous experience working with students with special needs such as mental and physical disabilities. Furthermore, she was a member of the UCLA Care Extender Internship Program for three years. During her time as a Care Extender, she also served on the Recruitment Committee; her experience assessing and interacting with these candidates gave her tolerance, open-mindedness, and the ubiquitous reliability that will help her in patient relations. Her work as a counselor and cabin leader at the Muscular Dystrophy Association camp further amplified her patient relation skills and embellished her innate inclination to care for every member of humanity on a personal and meticulous level. During her time as an undergraduate student, Nazanin was a Research Assistant at the Computation of Language Laboratory at UCI where she conducted research on word segmentation and acquisition of Syntax. Furthermore, she was involved in Alzheimer’s research and investigated the role of calcium in the initiation and progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Nazanin obtained her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Irvine with a degree in Psychology. She graduated in the top 5% of her graduating class and was awarded Magna Cum Laude Latin Honors. |
Brian Berookhim Brian Berookhim is an active member of Doctors At Reach. He strives to educate the youth about the importance of exercise, diet and overall healthy lifestyle. He believes that educating the young members of our society can help put an end to our health epidemic. Brian has joined a directed research team at the Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology (CASIT) under Dr. Warren Grundfest. He has been implementing a possible new method for resolving retinal detachment for the past 2 years. He also assisted in Cancer research by using a florescent camera to detect the presence of cancer in vitro. Brian is an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles where he is majoring in Psychobiology. |
Neusha Ghassemian Neusha Ghassemian is an active member of Doctors at Reach. Neusha is currently a medical school candidate, following his dream of helping people live healthier and more fulfilling lives. Being surrounded by his family practicing in the medical field inspired him to follow in their footsteps to continue the legacy. Neusha brings his passion and drive to Doctors At Reach and is helping the organization in countless ways. Neusha is a recent graduate at the University of California Riverside, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in the Economics. Curently he is working in an independent specialty pharmacy gaining more exposure to the field of medicine while continuing to shadow and volunteer in a local clinic. |
Nima Farsi Nima Farsi joined Doctors At Reach because of his passion to help promote a health conscious mindset. By working with multiple physical therapists, he knows first hand how important positive health habits can be. Nima has worked with physically disabled at the Brown Center of Achievement, engaging geriatric clients in land and aquatic terrain exercises. He also has experience working with the mentally disabled having worked at Our Community Elementary School. Here he helped improve students their cognitive motor development skills through numerous methods, never giving up on those who need it most. As a role model, he personally maintains a proper diet and participates in high levels of cardiovascular fitness. With obesity rates exponentially growing in the United States, Nima believes today’s youth must be informed and well aware of the precarious future that could await them. He is currently attending California State University, Northridge where he will obtain a bachelor’s degree in the Exercise Sciences of Kinesiology. |
